Brad Mee's feature article, "Making Magic", details Karen's methods and the transformation, as if by magic, of a 1,400 sq.ft. Salt Lake condominium into a chic family retreat. Inspired by her thirty something clients taste and style, Karen evolved a personalized esthetic to embrace the family lifestyle creating multiple options for conversation, dining and entertaining within the limited space. She perceptually expanded the space by emphasis horizontal lines and details to direct the eye to views beyond walls and to the vistas of downtown Salt Lake City.
The dramatic before and after photos document the magnitude of the transformation and showcase Karen's personal attention to every detail in her "turn-key" delivery of this stylish family urban retreat that left the owner's asking if they should "feel like royalty or rock stars".

Distinctively fresh design concept retaining charming traditional design elements yet creating hip retreat and gathering spot to meet, mingle and relax in the quaint coastal village with its famous Del Mar Horse track.
Comprehensive interior design and integrated stylistic continuity for entire resort from exterior, entry, lobby and common areas to guest rooms. Development of expanded terrace dining and outdoor living options with added water feature, expanded outdoor living areas and refined upscale pool as re-branded focal point to better extend (and connect) the resort with the sea.
